Megan McClellan, a 2003 McKnight Artist Fellow in Dance and her partner Brian Sostek have between them over twenty years of professional teaching experience in jazz, tap, ballroom and Latin dance. The two met in 1996 while touring internationally with the percussive dance/theater company Joe Chvala and the Flying Foot Forum, and further developed their teaching skills by conducting workshops while touring North and South America.
Since 2000, they have choreographed and performed their own work delighting audiences in North America and Europe, and earning them rave reviews and comparisons to Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers by ten separate publications, including The Guardian (London), The Ottawa Sun, The Stage (London), Seattle Times, Terminal City Weekly (Vancouver), and The Vancouver Sun.
Currently, they have developed their own workshops based on the dance styles they perform in two of their shows, Trick Boxing and Pieces of Eight. The classes are designed for various ages and dance skills, and Megan and Brian keep at the fore their driving ideal that dance, no matter how advanced, should always be enjoyable, as should the process of learning it.
