Actor and Director Richard Kline, best known as "Larry" from Three’s Company, will teach his highly successful and sought after program on the world of comedy auditioning.

SIT-COM BOOTCAMP will take you through the world of sit-com auditioning with exercises to improve timing, rhythm, set-ups, punch-lines, musicality and the all important "finding the funny". You'll work on being believable and discuss the nature of comedy as it relates to basic acting techniques. You'll also get info and background on everything from the 'audition process' to 'table-read' to 'behavior on-set' from an expert on both sides of the camera!

Richard Kline will be in Vancouver to perform his critically acclaimed one-man show Boychik in the 2006 Chutzpah! Festival.

 

RICHARD KLINE BIO
A native New Yorker, Richard Kline attended Queens College and holds a Masters in Theatre from Northwestern University. He is known to millions of TV watchers as 'Larry' on the classic sitcom Three's Company, now enjoying cult status on Nick-At-Nite. For the same Nickelodeon network he played Noah's dad on the series Noah Knows Best. Last fall he co-starred on NBC's Inside Schwartz playing the father of Breckin Meyer. Among his many television credits are That 70's Show, Gilmore Girls, Judging Amy, NYPD Blue, Dream On and L.A. Law.

After serving as a lieutenant in Vietnam, Richard made his professional debut at the prestigious Lincoln Center Repertory Company in 1971. His Broadway debut came in 1990 in the musical City of Angels, his film debut in Barry Levinson's Liberty Heights and his TV debut on the Mary Tyler Moore Show. Richard's theatre credits include Death of A Salesman, Chemin de Fer with Dennis Franz, Folger Shakespeare Theatre in Washington DC in the title role of Henry V and Berowne in Love's Labor's Lost. An accomplished singer as well, Richard has appeared in the musical They're Playing Our Song, Do I Hear A Waltz?, The Rothschilds, and Hello Again. In the American premiere of Andrew Lloyd Weber's By Jeeves, he played Jeeves both at the Godspeed Opera and The Kennedy Center. He has an apparent affinity for the works of Neil Simon having done six of his plays, including a National Tour of Canada in Jake's Women.

As a Director, Richard won the LA Drama Critics Circle Award for his direction of Noel Coward's Present Laughter. He has directed Bruce Davison, Burt Reynolds and Billy Connolly in their TV series as well as directing NBC weatherman Fritz Coleman in his one-man show It's Me! Dad! for both the stage and television. Other directing credits include Rumors (with Bernie Koppel), Rough Crossing, The Great Sebastians, Breaking Legs (with Pat Harrington), and the Theatre League tour of Leader of the Pack.
